Forgotten Playland, the social party game powered by Avalanche’s Beam Network, has rolled out a milestone update introducing NFT-based in-game assets, a battle pass system, and new features that deepen its Web3 integration. Players now unlock real digital ownership, tradeable assets, and a more vibrant in-game economy.
With its latest update, Forgotten Playland fully embraces Web3 by integrating with the Avalanche-based Beam Network. This development transforms most in-game items into freely tradeable NFTs, putting true economic ownership directly in players’ hands. By moving beyond traditional, siloed in-game items, Forgotten Playland delivers on the promise of decentralized gaming, where users can buy, sell, and freely exchange their earned digital assets.
Players can now collect two distinct NFT classes: Cosmetic and Toybox. Cosmetic NFTs include skins, emotes, and character traits, which are earned through gameplay or can be unlocked via the new battle pass or Toybox bundles—limited-edition packs available at select times. According to Zico Bakker of Duckland Games, these NFTs are designed to enhance personalization, enable social signaling, and unlock access to special content while powering the in-game marketplace. The evolving ecosystem introduces new challenges, rewards, and a battle pass that bundles exclusive content to keep the community engaged.
The economy within Forgotten Playland is now tied to both NFTs and the game’s FP token. Players participate in campaigns like the play-to-airdrop Fluffy points event, where collecting cosmetics, completing quests, and engaging in the game all accumulate points, infusing both financial and social incentives into gameplay. As Bakker notes, these new mechanics shift progression from purely aesthetic to meaningful engagement, offering players genuine value as they invest time and creativity into the game.
Forgotten Playland’s latest advancements position it at the forefront of the growing Avalanche gaming ecosystem, illustrating how blockchain technology can enable genuine ownership, low fees, and fast interactions on PC games. With more content, features, and a player-driven economy on the way, it spotlights how Web3 can elevate both gameplay and digital asset value—charting new territory for the future of decentralized gaming.
Forgotten Playland is now available for free download on the Epic Games Store. Developed by Vermillion—a partnership between Duckland Games and the Beam Foundation—the title continues to break new ground for NFT-powered social party games.
