WLFI token launch surges into top-30 — early buyers up 1,700%

WLFI token launch rockets to top-30 market cap at $7.6B. Early buyers see ~1,700% gains as trading starts on Binance, Gate and Bybit amid heavy liquidations.

World Liberty Financial‘s WLFI token went live for trading Monday and quickly vaulted into the top ranks of cryptocurrency by market capitalization, underscoring intense early demand.

CoinGecko listed WLFI at a $7.6 billion market cap and a $26.7 billion fully diluted valuation shortly after trading began; CoinMarketCap showed a $6.48 billion market cap and a $26.28 billion FDV. The token is trading near $0.265, giving early whitelisted buyers who paid $0.015 per token gains above 1,700%.

Trading was turbulent from the start. Data from CoinGlass shows about $8.51 million in long liquidations and $3.85 million in short liquidations — roughly $12.36 million total — within WLFI’s first four-plus hours. For context, about $6.77 million in leveraged Bitcoin positions were liquidated over the same period.

WLFI was originally sold as a non-transferable governance token and raised about $550 million across two sale rounds that closed in March. A July governance vote approved making the token transferable; World Liberty Financial said only portions of tokens bought at $0.015 and $0.05 would unlock initially to reward early retail participants and seed liquidity.

The project bills itself as an DeFi lending and borrowing ecosystem, though core services have not fully launched. It has already issued USD1, a dollar-pegged stablecoin that CoinGecko ranks as the sixth-largest stablecoin by market cap. The venture lists nine co-founders, including President Trump, his three sons and U.S. special envoy Steven Witkoff; President Trump disclosed taking $57.3 million from the project — a detail that has generated political debate.

WLFI began trading on major centralized exchanges including Gate, Bybit and Binance. Readers should note the extreme price swings and high liquidation figures: rapid token launches can produce sharp gains and equally fast losses. This coverage is informational, not investment advice.
